Limb Replacement (game mechanic idea)

Here’s one for you DM’s who like the idea of replacing limbs, & the ability to give out more of a dishing to your players, while having a fallback.

Over the course of the campaign, your player will hurt the villains a lot & get themselves hurt a lot. But sometimes they will lose a limb or two. In the cases of a loss of limb, the DM should be able to deal with that accordingly (by profive detriments while not having the limb & to provide an option to get something in its place)

Limb Loss: in the case of losing a limb there a several determinants that can be given to the players. Here’s a general list on what happens during the loss of curtain limbs.

-toes/fingers: -1 or -2 to dex

-Foot/Leg: -2 dex to -10 dex

-Hand/Arm: -2 str to - 10 str

-Central body mass: -1 con to - 15 con (counts on how much is gone)

-Ear: -1 con, gets disadvantage on all perception rolls (gets advantage against defen rolls)

-Jaw: -3 cha, harder to speak properly

-Tongue: -2cha, can’t speak

Eye: +1 Cha, -2 dex, ranged attacks have disadvantage to hit target

-ect limb: -1 cha to -3 cha.

Limb Replacement: If a person has lost a limb, they can use one of multiple methods to replace it (all of which have varying effects)

-Replaced via Druidry/nature: Limb is replaced back via creating a new limb out of magical plant matter, stats are restored to normal (become weak to fire attacks & can loss said replace limb via fire)

-Replaced via Magical Grafting: Limb is replaced by inserting the bone/flesh of a creature into the place it was lossed & then using magic to make it function like usual (Brings all stats back to normal except any that are Charisma based, can be removed from dissipating the magic)) [Can be used to gain higher or lower stats than before]

-Replaced via Regrowth: The limb is replaced by using some form of magic/science/natural ability to make it regrow into its old self (Stats go to normal, takes time for it to regrow)

-Replaced via Fey magic: The limb is replaced  via the help of fey magic <Fey expects the person gifted of this to be in their debt, indefinitely (& will take away the replacement if they feel the person isn’t living up to that standard.)> [Stats can go above normal levels]

-Replaced via patreon: The limb is replaced via a warlocks patreon <If the players doesn't have this patreon, the patreon expects the next lvl up to be spent in warlock just for them ( & will take away the replacement if they feel the person isn’t living up to that standard)> [Stats can go above normal levels]

Replaced via godly intervention: The limb is replaced via a god’s influence <Happens to clerics & paladins often, but any character that acts holy enough can have this happen> (The stats go back up to a normal level)

Replaced via technology: The limb is replaced via making a metal limb that is based on warforged design (has to be maintained via frequent oilings & tuningins) [Stats can go above normal levels]

-Replaced via extradimensional: The limb is replaced by someone that’s not from this dimension (has unforeseen side effects) [stats can go above normal levels <except charisma based>]

-Replaced via wood: The limb is replaced via making a wood replica of it (only recovers half of stat loss) [Does Not prevent other replacements of this limb, can be burnt]

Replaced via metal/stone: The limb is replaced via making a stone/metal replica of it (only recovers half of stat loss) [Does Not prevent other replacements of this limb, hard to break]

-Replaced via poraclin/gold: The limb is replaced via making a gold/porcelain replica (only receives half of stat loss) [adds +2 to charisma & or all charisma loss if above 2, Does Not prevent other replacements of this limb]

-Cover over limb: The limb gets covered over (any negative charisma mods are negated) [Does Not prevent replacements of this limb]
