The Rivals (Campaign Aspect Idea)

Here's one for you Dm's that want a constant recurring challenge though-out your campaign The Idea for this one is that thought the players adventure though your campaign there will be a rival team of adventures who they frequently run into, & most likely but heads with. The reason this other team of adventures would want to but heads with the players will be up to the dm.  There are many different ways you can build the rival team & I'll give a good list of ways I came up with The Opposite: The Rival team is basically the opposite of the player team in temperament. (IE if the player team is blood thirst, then the rival team will be diplomatic) This should also show though in what classes, that being said there really isn't an opposite for most classes, so I recommend that if the player team is particular non-magic, & or magic heavy then the rivals will be magic heavy & or non-magic heavy to balance them out. This helps build a antagonist at...

Ring of Deflection (Equipment/item)

Here's an item for you DM's that want something cool but is rarely used Appearance: This Steel collared ring has a shield pendent where the jewel should be. Description: This magical ring deflects any attacks that hit it. It was made to help people who had to deal with tiny wizards. Please note that it is highly recommended that the user should't cast magic while wearing this ring, due to it possible sending the spell right back at the user. Ability: If an attack hits the ring it will be defected back at the user for the same amount of damdage.(how to decided this is up to the dm, but a recommended way to do this is if an attack doesn't hit the users ac, that both the enemy & the user roll 1d10 & if they got the same number it the attack will be deflected back to the attacker) If a person cast a spell that is transmitted though physical touch & or through the hands while wearing this ring, if they roll under a curtain number (number decided by dm) th...

Barn Night Survival (Encounter)

Here's one for you DM's that want a good old fashion hold out encounter. The players are traveling when it starts to become night. When they start to set up for the night they will find an abandoned barn. After they set up camp they will notice that some undead start to come up from the ground. After awhile more & more will start to come up & if the players don't try to do something about it, they will agro at the party. The party will then have to ether flee someone else, or weather out the storm of undead.
