Sand Snake (enemy idea)
Here’s one for you DM’s that want an enemy for your deserts.
The sand snake, is a giantish snake found in sand. The snake mostly tunnels under the sand for protection & to ambush, but does sometimes slither around the surface to search for water. The sand snake has a tendency to attempt to drag its prey under the sand surface, in order to suffocate them & then eat them. They are usually not found in groups, but don’t be surprised if you come across 2 - 3
