Rigged tarot session (event idea)

Here’s one for you DM’s that honestly just want to screw with less perceptive players

The players are walking about town, when they find this odd little cart. If they go up to the cart, they will find a cloaked man who asks if one of them “wants a tair-et card reading.” If one of the players agree, he will do a simple three card reading (beings the past present 7 future). For the first it can be anycard in a tarot deck He will then, in an unorthodox way, do the future card next & it will show death on it. After that he will mention how death is looming around the player. After saying the he will move onto the ‘present’ tarot card, & will pull out another death card (which should be impossible since every deck has only 1 of each type of card in it).

After that he will try & persuade the player to get away from her destructive path by purchasing a ‘death be gone’ potion. If the players fall for it they will pay for the potion. Drinking the potion does nothing… . If the player figure out that this is rigged & confront the tarot card reader about it, he will stumble on his words & then run away, leaving the coins from his past victims behind.
