Magical Containment Force (Campaign idea)

Here's one for you DM's that want a campaign more so based on the real world, with the world of D&D being odd wonders & dangerous anomalies.


The world has been an actual normal place. Magic, the literal influence of gods & Devils, & Eldritch beings, were all things that we're make believe. Well that was until awhile ago, when something caused some of these magical beings to come into the world & run amuck. The governments (or at least the governments that know about this) decided that they would rather keep all of this from the public eyes, so they have now created a 'world wide' agency to deal with this (ie the Magical containment force).

The players will be part of one of the MCF teams & must develop ways to observe, secure/pacify, & then eventually drive back what is causing all of this. Of course this is better said then done when you got devils, vampire, lich lords, xrons, & of course mind flayers & beholders. At least there's some good with the bad, since good entities will come along for the ride as well.

The writer of this article recommends that a person who wishes to run this campaign have some form of slow build up to the harder/more mystical enemies. Also having a factions of conspiracy theorist & opportunists who will both interrupt the players goals & may even become a major threat.
