Let's Make A Story (Side quest idea) [1000th Idea Special]

Here's one for you Dm's that want a feel good side quest.

The players enter are prosing around a town in the later part of the day, when they come across a very concerned looking middle aged tielfing man. If they ask what's up, apparently the man will tell them that he's a 'young' father & that the books he ordered for him to read to his kid, has come late & now he's trying to come up with a story before he has to go home in 30ish minutes.

He will then ask the party if they can help him make one before he goes home & or come home with him to help improv one. If the party agrees & counting on which on they choices, will change how the rest of the side quest plays out.

If they choice to help the man write one out before he has to go home, the man will give an opening prompt & then let the players go at it while he writes the story (he will franticly write down anything they say). If the players say anything that isn't kid friendly (ie gory, hard technical stuff, & or has adult themes) the father will perk up & ask "are you sure I should be telling that to my kid?" if the party says yes, he will sit here for a sec, nod, then write it done. If the party says no, he will scratch out the being part of it on the paper he wrote. After 20 minutes, the man will tell them that he will have to go home soon, & that they need to wrap this up. When the party get's to the end of the story or they take 8 more minutes, the man will stop writing, thank them, then run off.

If the party choice to improv at the father's house, before they go into the kid's room to improve the story, the father will tell them to not ask or bring up any scaring content. After that they will go into the kids room & the father will introduce the party as "professional story tellers". the father will then star tout the story & then let the players take the lead. If the players at any point bring up anything scaring the kid will ask what one of the words they said meant, & then the father will give them a leer. After awhile the kid will give off the yawn, & the father will say "It's his bedtime soon, so let's try to wrap this up". Once the players wrap it up or take more than 8 minutes too, the kid will fall asleep. The father will kiss his kid on the head & the shuffle the players out of his house, before his husband get's home.

No mater which path the player take, they will receive a letter in 3 days. Counting on the players performance the letter will either congratulate them for making the night for his kid so well & or thanking them for trying to make the night for his kid well. If they get the first letter, they all will receive 3 gold coins (which is in the envelope), if they get the second letter, they will instead get one silver coin each.
