We are going Home (Side quest idea)

Here’s one for you DM’s that want the party to do a morally good thing. The players are out & about when they notice a caravan. If they go up to it they will find multiple people arguing about supplies. It will eventually escalate to the point where a brawl almost breaks out. At that point someone will notice the party & ask them if they can go out & get them supplies for their journey home. Apparently their last batch of supplies had gotten lost when they tried to ‘ford a river’. The person says they will cover the player’s cost & give them a little extra if they can do this for them. If the player’s do this for them, the players will return to where the caravan was to see that it is no longer their. If they investigate they will find tracks which leads in the direction the caravan was heading. If they follow the tracks they will find that the caravan is once more heading towards home. If the players ask why they did this, the people will just say that they didn...

Orphaned Orphanage (Location Idea)

Here’s one for you Dm’s that want a non-hostile location Appearance: An Old orphanage which is starting to show signs of disuse. Moss, rats & the occasional clicking noises can be found in this building. Backstory: This orphanage use to be quite the pretty place, where those who were cast out of society at an early age would stay till they hit adulthood. But around seven years ago the owners & upkeepers all disappeared leaving those who were left in the building as it’s new master. Now it is run with lack of authority & is generally regarded as one of those places a ‘regular person’ should never go to. Possible Traps: Lose floor board, protruding nails, fallen floors/stairs Possible enemies: Rats, Children (if you purposefully provoke them into a fight) Possible Bosses: [None] Possible Loot: old toys, mementos, bronze coins, moss

Stepless step (trap idea)

Here’s one for you Dm’s that want a trap which can appear in any building. The players are heading from one floor to another & are taking the stairs. About halfway through going up them, the step that they just stepped on will break apart & might scrape up  the player’s leg (causing 1d4 damage).  If the step is high up in the air, the player will have a risk of falling though it & taking fall damage as well.
